Basketball Rule Violation: An infraction of the rules that isn’t a foul, doesn’t result in free throws but in a turnover to the opponent for a throw-in.
Backcourt Violation - A team must advance the ball into its frontcourt within 10 seconds after gaining possession in the backcourt.
Basket Interference
Double Dribble - Resuming dribbling after having stopped (when no defender interrupts the player’s possession of the ball) or dribbling with both hands at the same time.

Inbounds - On any inbounds play the player throwing the ball in has 5 seconds to release the ball.
Kicked or Punched Ball
Lane - An offensive player can’t be in the lane (the key) for more than 3 seconds at a time.
Over & Back - The return of the ball to the backcourt when last touched by an offensive player in the frontcourt.
Palming
Shot Clock - The ball must leave an offensive player’s hands before the shot clock expires. The ball must then hit the rim on that shot or it will be a violation.
Throw-In Violation
Traveling - When the ball handler takes too many steps without dribbling; also called walking.
